Sadly, two of my closest friends have lost members of their families this month. I'm off to the funeral home again tomorrow, and made this card last night for the family.
I must be in crumb cake mode, as I can't seem to get enough of it lately. Today's card is one of my favorite silhouette stamps from Unity. I colored the stamp directly using water-based markers, spritzed the stamp w water, and stamped the ivory card stock, then double matted it. The flowers are made w a base coat of the lightest color, then thumped with the medium color, and I added touches of the darkest color to their edges. Stems are Old Olive, sentiment's Crumb Cake. The stamped image is double matted and popped up.

What The Font page and it will return suggestions of matching fonts. If their software can't match the font, you can test their specialists to see if they can figure out what font you've uploaded. Or stroll through the "solved" cases to find some cool fonts. I clip a photo of the font I want to match, upload it, then use google to find the font + "free." Easy peasy. This one turned out to be the Zapfino font, and alas, wasn't available for free ... at least from what I could find today!

I was in need of a sympathy card and Angie supplied the right elements in today's Stamp Camp for a masculine fall version. This is heading to our friend and former coworker whose wife recently passed away but would also make a beautiful Thanksgiving card as well.
I needed a sympathy card and thought I'd use my fav color combo of black, white, and a splash of color for it. I purchased a few silhouette stamps recently, including this bird - they're part of a series and include 3 stamps to a set, from the kind folkes at Inkadinkado. This was my first time stamping on SU's textured card stock and it covered nicely.

This could easily have been used as either a Christmas or "thinking of you" card but today's is a sympathy card for a family whose father/Grandfather passed away recently. My Dad passed away 6 years ago last month, and I know firsthand how it is going thru all the "firsts." I'd meant to send before now but I first collected a couple candid pictures to send along with it.
This pine stamp conveys peaceful feelings to me ... I used it in one of my first Christmas cards of the year colored in greens and browns (see Nov 7th post) but this time it's for a sympathy card so I chose a simple CAS black silhouette today.
This La Crème DP is so soft and subtle - it's what pulled me toward the purchase of this DP package at Jo-Ann's and was the first DP I thought of using when called the situation arose that called for some sympathy cards this past month. It looks like dark gray stitching on a soft creamy yellow background. I used my latest nestie set - labels 8 - for the background and my dove, scalloped circle, and word window punches to make up the little cluster with the sentiment.
I learned today that I'll need a sympathy card for Dawn, a gal in our office whose mother passed away today, and Angie came to my rescue at this evening's stamp camp. Originally intended as an Easter card, she made other sentiments available to us, so it was transformed into a sympathy card. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?! Thanx, Angie!
