one day without shoes

Wanting to help get shoes on the feet of children in need, American Blake Mycoskie created TOMS Shoes. TOMS' business model is unique: For every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS donates a pair of new shoes to a child in need.

Today is TOMS' annual, international event, "One Day Without Shoes." According to its website, TOMS has asked people to pledge to go barefoot today to raise awareness for "those people who don't have a choice."

You know its interesting. I see them all with smiles on this video, so nobody is really gonna get it. Did anyone send shoes over there? Did anyone that has tons of shoe collections that they never wear them even send one pair?
I just don't see the real purpose of this. Sad

well if i or my daughters get asked we will tell them about this...also we donate old shoes to a program that sends new shoes to places that need them...like http://www.soles4souls.org/

Well that is wonderful information. That is great that Tom Shoes sponsors the program and sends shoes over to those that need them.
I remember seeing shoes being handed out a couple years ago but I don't remember who donated them all.
