a time to relax

It's retirement time for a coworker and they're headed to the tropics to celebrate their first month of blissful retirement! I found a cute scrapbook with palm trees and was pleased to spot this last Jolee's boutique dimensional sticker when I went to a scrapbooking class this afternoon. I took it as a sign that it was meant to be!

stamps: n/a; paper: Be Blessed's Shalom DP, ColorMates' 2-color gold/ivory and textured coffee brown card stocks; ink: PC-generated sentiment; accessories: Jolee's boutique Florida dimensional stickers

farewell, Stan & Angie!

Our university's president and first lady of these past 6 years is retiring this month and I was asked to make a card from his cabinet to mark the occasion. Mainly a collage of things that held special significance to them both, I enlisted the aid of my youngest son and provided him the images for the project. He worked on the collage while I worked on another project that I'll be posting later this weekend!

stamps: n/a; paper: AC Cardstock's white, SUs brilliant blue and summer sun (methinks); ink: PC-generated

life's a beach

... and then you retire! I made this card for my boss to give to our CIO who just retired. No stamps were damaged in the making of this card; it's a paper and digital crafted item ... ok, with some Jolee's items tossed in!

Does the idea of the Silhouette intrigue others besides me? When I lifted the title text from a Jolee's title wave I was thinking I could print whatever titles I liked IF I'd purchased one by now ... sigh ...

I lifted the overall design from his farewell party invite and retired-life-cards he distributed at one of the parties folkes threw for him at work.

My DH suggested the "sand" - it's Canadian steak seasoning, so after Jim reads the card, he can eat it ... nah, I actually ended up coating it w Mod Podge, so I wouldn't recommend eating it later! The sun is sprayed w Gold Glimmer Mist. I did a "This is You Life" for the inside of the card, w 6 pages showing pics lifted from his college yearbooks, pics from the frat house he was in, added logos of different places he'd worked before becoming our CIO, etc. so it's more like a mini photo album than a card. Hope he likes it!

an elegant retirement

My buddy Sue retired last month.

To commemorate the event, I sent her this kewl card that I'd made at the Open House that Crystal held recently to celebrate the new CATY. We used the new soft sky and blue bayou "In Colors," then the baroque motifs and elegant inspirations stamps. Turned out nice, don't 'cha think?!
