A coworker celebrated her b'day over the weekend and WE celebrated it on Monday with donuts from her fav donut-provider - if you're in the Flint area, check out Donna's Donuts - YUM! I made the card w waves based on the video tutorial at this post from the kind folkes at the Hero Arts blog.
I know the sailboat doesn't conform to any semblance of reality ... but Beth and her family sail most summer weekends ... and it was fun making it! I first made my sailboat using a 1-1/4" circle punch, then the wave stencil using recycled acrylic sheets from work, making my waves all the same size using SU's slit punch. Then I used an X-Acto knife to cut along the top of the waves to tuck the sailboat into the scene, matted and popped it up on the card base. The inside sentiment's PC-generated: Friends like you keep us afloat!
stamps: Clear & Simple Stamps' sunshine; paper: Paper Reflections' black, SU's Soft Suede, and recycled white card stock from handouts from my workplace (hey, it's Earth Day week, right?!); ink: SU's Tempting Turquoise, Yo Yo Yellow

Those waves are awesome and so is the sun. Who cares if the sailboat isn't realitic...I'll bet she LOVED this card!
